Following a successive string of recent runners-up finishes, ENZED backed SprintCar driver Daniel Eggleton scored his first win of the year at ‘The Springs’ recently, and did so in style, climbing from a lowly 15th place start in the 30-lap feature race to greet the chequered flag and win in convincing style.
In his own words below, Eggleton covers his historic win.
“I finally managed to get my wife and three little kiddies away for a just few days of holiday over the long weekend. It was actually our first “holiday” (if you can call it that) since our honeymoon over six years ago. With motorsport being such a huge commitment, I am really very fortunate to be able to have my family come along to the events I contest to support me, while I am also incredibly appreciative of the support I receive from my valued sponsoring group.
“We’re rapidly approaching the end of our SprintCar season and for those who weren’t able to watch the action on SKY TV, or via online streams, we FINALLY managed to secure our first feature win of the season at the 90th Jubilee “Legends Night”, where it’s the fastest cars starting from the rear of the field.
“After a great race we managed to take the win in the ENZED machine, despite starting well back out of grid 15. After three recent second place finishes it was great to finally record a big win, and even more so from where I started down in the pack. Wins like these are pretty hard to come by with 20-car plus cars in the feature race and being able to charge through to greet the chequered flag by a comfortable margin after 30 hard racing laps was just awesome.”
